A Resilient Speaker on a Mission
I recently got the chance to interview one of Oklahoma’s rising stars, Athena Captain, and learned a lot of fascinating things. From our conversation, I discovered that Athena is a dynamic individual with a captivating personality. Her personal and professional journey has shaped her into the resilient, determined, passionate, and driven person she is today.
When it comes to her personal life, Athena identifies as both an introvert and an extrovert. While she enjoys socializing and connecting with others, she also finds solace in moments of solitude to recharge her energy. For fun, Athena indulges in activities such as reading, boating, and engaging in non-profit initiatives. These hobbies not only bring her joy but also reflect her compassionate nature.
Speaking of values, Athena places immense importance on three key aspects of life: faith, family, and career coaching. Her strong faith serves as a guiding force, keeping her grounded and motivated. Family holds a special place in her heart, and she cherishes the relationships she has built with loved ones. Additionally, Athena finds great fulfillment in her career coaching endeavors, where she empowers others to unlock their full potential and achieve their goals.
Athena’s Childhood
Moving on to Athena’s childhood, it becomes evident that her dreams and aspirations started taking shape from an early age. Her childhood dream was to become a professional speaker, which aligns with her passion for empowering and inspiring others through her words. One of the most influential figures in Athena’s life during her childhood was her great-grandmother. Though their connection was sporadic, her great-grandmother’s transformation in the 1940s left a lasting impact on Athena’s outlook on life.
As a child, Athena faced numerous challenges, primarily related to survival. However, her unwavering faith served as a beacon of hope during difficult times, giving her the strength to persevere. She fondly remembers meeting her best friend, who showed her unconditional love, in California. This significant bond helped shape Athena’s belief in the power of love and support, which she carries with her to this day.
From Homebuilding to Coaching
Transitioning to her adulthood, Athena has worked as a career coach for the past three years, but her journey began much earlier. She started her professional career in sales and marketing when she was just 18 years old. Over time, she honed her skills and eventually became a business owner and partner, bringing her experience and expertise to the forefront. Athena’s focus shifted towards coaching because she recognized the need for individuals and businesses to have an unstoppable sales engine. She firmly believes that a prospective plan is more crucial than a traditional business plan.
I was curious to know what prompted Athena’s transition from the world of homebuilding to coaching, and she explained that building something from scratch excited her. In less than five years, she managed to establish a thriving business by implementing a well-defined system. Through her experiences, Athena has learned valuable lessons, and one of the most important ones is that we can overcome anything we can imagine. Her unwavering faith has been a constant source of strength throughout her journey.
When I asked Athena about the most rewarding aspect of her life, she mentioned the joy she finds in positively helping others. Empowering individuals and witnessing their growth brings her immense fulfillment. Looking forward, Athena has ambitious goals she still wishes to achieve. She aspires to become a New York Times best-selling author and embark on an international speaking tour. Additionally, she dreams of delivering a special talk in Rwanda, where she would have the opportunity to address and inspire women in leadership roles. Athena strongly believes in the power of women as leaders and advocates for a balanced and inclusive society.

Her journey from childhood to adulthood has shaped her into the remarkable individual she is today.
